my referbished tractors

had them advertised on kijiiji all across western Canada, on this site, and on a heavy equipment for sale site. Started with a price and changed the value to" accepting offers". Have received no interest. Is it worth while putting them in a Richie bros auction, offering them for parts or straight to the scrap dealer.

I think Ritchie auction is a decent option. You can register with them and do searches on previous auctions and see what similar old tractors have sold for to see if you want to try selling yours there.

(quoted from post at 02:48:33 05/28/15) cant seem to post a picture here so put the picture in for sale adds. . Ad number 589056

Those sure are some beautiful Tractors. Good luck on the sale

Though I'm sure your scrap dealer comment was a bit sarcastic, scrap is way down. Tractors seem to be cheap up your way. if it's feasible you might think of bringing them south to the US to auction off. I'm not joking when I say the next time I buy a tractor I'm going to Canada. I don't know what you were asking, but at most auctions here those would likely bring in the 4-5k range around here unless it was a collector auction or those tractors were advertised beforehand.

Obviously waiting for the right buyer you could do better. Perhaps there's a collect who might store your collection while waiting on a buyer?

If I wanted to search for that add number could anybody tell me how to go about it? IMHO the search features of this forum smell of manure. I realize the whole support structure for the forum is based off a software package, but as far as I'm concerned there is a lot to be learned from how the search feature to New AgTalk forums works. At least you can search by the author there and usually get close enough for lawn darts. Anybody in the know that can help me out?
Edit: Okay sorry I blew up. I was searching in The Forums segment of the site, needed to be in the Marketplace segment. You would think the site specific search with "all" selected would look at everything to do with Yesterday's Tractors site, but apparently not. Best wishes with selling your tractors they look real nice. At least I learned something from it.

Hi They are very nice tractors, I think you have fallen into the out of demand situation with them, or they are useless, for acreage guys with no 3 point and stuff .

I'm In Manitoba. What i have seen and heard in the trade is, All the older guys like you that grew up with those models have one, are retiring like you, or the estates trying to sell them in some cases.
The next generation collector with money/retiring grew up with the number series tractors like IH 1206 JD 4020 and the oliver's /cockshutts MM's. Basically the market has moved on 20 years newer to.

If it's like it is here with you, all the jockeys want is very rare or number series models and to try steel them cheap to.
Letters are not making anything in sales either round here right now, and guys don't want many parts, so wreckers won't pay either as once the good tires are gone they are stuck with to much. I have seen full restored like yours sell for less than the 4 new tires cost. I need 30" tires here but can't bring myself to buy the tractor take the tires off and scrap the rest.

Hi on my screen page now I have "market place" on the top left of page in a menu list click on Photo adds. it then takes you to another page. Click tractor. That then opens the lists of tractors for sale with pictures. go down the list until you see "4 w series Refurbished tractor" listed Click on that and there is your pictures.
Regards Robert

I'll also say it's probably best to keep prices on them and just add "or best offer". That at least gives an expectation. I know I don't like having to call and hemhaw around trying to figure out what someone wants without offending them.

Sadly, the economy is still crummy (at least down here) so a lot of discretionary purchases like collector items just aren't selling quick.

Same thoughts here, people make offers (especially low balls) whether it is OBO or not.

I would be interested in the whole lot if they were closer. Talk to wopp. He may be interested. The other place I would look is Mecum Auctions. They will buy all 4 and sell them on their next auction or you can consign them yourself.

price? At least $30000.00 invested. if they don't sell before I have to vacate my property salvage will be my last option. So I guess I am running something like a silent auction, make an offer and see what happens+

I certainly wish you luck in finding someone willing to purchase them but Prince George, BC is not on the hot corner in town where a For Sale is going to get it done. I think you need to load all four of them on a large trailer and get them somewhere to a location which is more accessible to the collector tractor buying folks. The delivery cost for most anyone in the United States will probably exceed the cost of the tractor. Someone willing to take all four might be able to absorb the transportation expenses to your distant location. I don't know how collectable these older Farmalls are around Prince George but would guess the possibility of a local sale is somewhat limited at best. I don't mean to paint a bleak picture but getting them to a national auction might be your best bet and then the transportation expense will likely eat up most of the selling price. If they are not in top shape and without issues your likelihood for getting a decent selling price will be very limited. I certainly wish you the best success in finding new owners as they look far to nice to scrap or part out, Hal.

Here is a picture to help you sell them. I called local scrap dealer here in Alberta. Unprepared scrap is $40 Cdn a ton, prepared scrap is $80 a ton. You don't have your email enabled, or your pm's.

(quoted from post at 23:11:41 05/28/15) I must be blind, I don't see an email button anywhere. I go to your profile, pm is off.

I couldn't find it either.

How did you post the image? I tried posting it right off this site, but couldn't make it work. I know I have done it before.
