686 310 engine compression

Does anyone know what the engine compression should be on this engine & what kind of gauge to check it. Injectors are out so would like to check the compression.

Ya need the compression gauge designed for diesels and the proper tool that fits into the injector hole Snap on , Mac , OTC and several others have then . BUT you will not like the price and unless you are working on diesel engines all the time or just like spend ing money on a new use it once toy then that is up to you . If you are having a problem with a miss or hard starting then it will show you what each hole is doing . If you have blow by and hard starting and excess oil usage then ya need a rebuild no gauge required.
