Farmall H counter shaft speed

I may have asked this before but I forgot.
Its my understanding that the countershaft is what turns the pump on the H. Does anyone know what the ratio is? Its not 1:1 I'm sure. I am considering running a different hyd pump off that.

Thanks. I just answer the ones I feel confident to answer. I do have a history of noodling mechanical stuff. Jim

(quoted from post at 22:43:00 05/27/15) 3:1 is very close at 1650 engine RPM the 540 shaft is at operating speed. Jim

Pretty close. The actual ratio is 3.06. 18 teeth on the top shaft driving a lower gear with 55 teeth.

55/18 = 3.05555555 or as many places as you want to carry it out.

I would like to get to show you my EFI project some day and talk about it, I am hoping to go to threshers days.

Thanks for the info. I think I will run it off the PTO, and I will do a 3:1 ratio. It will power my log splitter. I want to make this pump removable because I pull with this tractor. I was going to run the log splitter off my super M hydraulics but quickly found that its not adequate. I have a rather powerful pump that, at one time, ran my loader off the front of my now gone 300u. The loader is going on the Super M which will work fine on the factory hyds. And the log splitter will run off the pto of my H or maybe my C.
