installing rings in a Cub

Got a quick question. I am installing new rings in my Cub and I'm not sure which rings go into the middle and top grooves. I didn't take the old ones out so I don't know how they were installed. They are aluminum pistons. I have one ring that appears to be aluminum, no dots or bevels. The other ring is black with a dot on one side and a bevel on the other. Looks like the dot should go up according to the instructions. My question is which groove do they go in.

Likely, your "aluminum" ring is chromed cast iron and is the top ring. Dots ("pips") go up.

That being said I wouldn't proceed without a full instruction sheet from the manufacturer of the replacement rings.

I've got an instruction sheet and it doesn't tell me much. It doesn't tell me much in about 6 languages.

Look again there are instructions how to install even though also different lingo one will be in English if not call the maker and they sure would send one.

I believe bevels on the inside go up, outside down, and agree that the aluminum ring is really chromed.
