While disassembling my 300 utility I noticed that the engine would not turn backwards unless the TA is pulled back. Is this normal, if so what causes it? I overhauled a 460 HU several years ago, I'm sure the engine was turned backwards with the lever forward during the process.

Normal, same parts that make the T/A hold on the low side keep engine from turning backwards until T/A clutch release.

Thanks -- I forgot about that, possibly never knew it since the ground is flat here.

Just started it, the older I get the slower I get. I also have a 350 row crop waiting -- some day.
