Farmall 560$$

I have a neighbor with a gas narrow front Farmall 560. It has a two point also. Two years ago his neighbor started an overhaul on it and didn't finish it. It is in pieces. The tires were replaced about 5 years ago or so and the rims are in good shape. He wanted me to look at it and give him my thoughts. It is fixable but I doubt he will ever put it back together. He asked me what it was worth. I never answered. As I recall the sheetmetal is a little rough. There is a chance I will put it back together for him. I really don't need another project but what are your thoughts on value? He has had the cylinder head work done and has the overhaul kit. The crankshaft looks like it could stand to be polished. I am thinking scrap value just because it is all apart. What are your thoughts?

gas or diesel? just had a head rebuilt for the 282 diesel and that was 600.00. so if he has all parts that is more than scrap. 1000.00 should be reasonable.

The tires and rims would sell for more than $1000 on Craigslist around here.

Are the loose parts labeled? If it's already disassembled he might be better off selling the parts individually rather than paying someone $40 to $60 per hour to sort through the loose parts and reassemble it.

Thanks guys. I don't think he wants to part it or part with it at this time. It is probably worth more parted out though. He has owned it a very long time. I am pretty sure he is the second owner. He used to raise hogs and I would hate to guess how many hours were put on it just grinding feed day after day. I might just do the right thing and help him put it back together. He was kind of hinting around that I could buy it. I really don't need another project at this time. I am knee deep on bringing a 450 back to life.
