1946 M Farmall. The tractor cranks twice and acts like the starter hits something. Here is what I have done. I have three M tractors so I can switch parts sometimes as a way to trouble shoot. I have tried the starter from one of the other tractors and it does the same thing, so it ain't the starter, because it works well on the other tractors. I am very particular about these tractors. They all have professionally made cables (very heavy) with brass lugs, an almost new battery that cranks the other tractors well, and a really good charging system. The starters have all been rebuilt recently. The engine has 250 hrs. on an overhaul. If I sit on the tractor and try to start it long enough, it will eventually crank over fast and start the tractor. I spent three days raking hay last week and I am getting tired of parking it on hills. Dose anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Ellis
