What do you guys run for your engine oil in the gas 6 cylinders like my 460? I don't want to sound cheap but the low ash CIH oil seems a bit steep in price for a play tractor and how most oil comes from the same factory. I've heard others using rotella oil for lp engines for the low ash and lubrication.

what weight would you use? It is used 90% in the spring to early fall and not in the winter... Indiana weather conditions its 60s today and next week could be 80s or higher

15W-40, if it was mine ! Does it have a tank heater? I got heater on my engines except my diesel pickup, so i put 10W-30 in that.

Oil is like making a cake. All use flour and shortening but it's the cook that makes the end result good or better. A blender starts with a base oil and adds his own concoction of additives. A low ash means just that. It leaves less ash's behind when it burns. Those ash's are what you find on the valve stems, head, piston ring lands, and spark plugs. I would agree CASEIH low ash oil is super high priced but it is one of a kind. No doubt other oils formulated to be low as will work just fine. The problem is finding them as one man's ash is another man's fuel.
