Missing seat support

I have a Farmall b, I believe, and the seat support brackets are missing. I'm trying to find out what year it is. The serial number on the engine block behind throttle cable is 190435 no FAA or FAI. There is a tag with 1/24/Q (riveted?) onto the casting. Need to remove decades of paint to be sure. Other castings appear to have tags ending in Q, maybe G? Could these give me an idea when this tractor was made? Sorry if this has been covered, i'm sure it has but couldn't find any posts with the info i seek. Thanks. Pics will come when i figure out how to do that.

1-24-Q means that piece was cast at the foundry on January 24, 1947.
1-24-G means January 24, 1937, as I read the Letter Series book.
You might find several different dates, the pieces might have been stock-piled for a while here and there until called for.

Your date codes are all 1947, as FBH44 said. (1937 would have been before any A or B tractors were built.) Your serial number is 1947 Chicago built, before the move to Louisville. The Chicago tractors all had matching serial and engine numbers.

The serial# should have he letters stamped FAB before the numbers. But it is possible the block was a replacement as that place was left blank and installer was to stamp the serial# on the block. What other cast codes appear like on final drive, transmission, cast centers of front wheels. For some reason codes werent cast on bell housings never have read why. Do you need the seat supports

The final drives are 2427& 2547, the trans is 2 17 Q, the cast centers on the front are 9 29 k and 3 18 x but i'm not sure if these are for this tractor the center steering shaft housing piece, not sure what it's called, doesn't look like it bolts up correctly to me. The stamping in it is 6688 dc. Are the stamps part numbers and the raised cast (tags) date codes? Ordering up some manuals this weekend so I'm hip to the lingo. As for parts I live in Alaska and shipping costs far more then the part itself. Parts are on a need only basis and it has a seat that works just isn't like in the pics i've seen. Thanks for the help

Go to Steiners Tractor Parts and look up seat support bracket for Farmall B. They have the left and right seat bracket. You will have to figure which one you need. They also have the springs that are used with those brackets.
