Aftermarket, called conformatic at one time. Several aftermarket places still sell them or similar sets.
If its really a SM block it should bore measure in the 4.250 area with sleeves out. Don't remember them making those 4 inch pistons for thick wall sleeves in a SM, maybe so but think they should be 4.125 pistons and thin wall sleeves.

Isn't that what a super M came with is a thick wall sleeve, with a 4 in flat top piston, and if went with the over size then u got the thin sleeve with a 4.125 size piston, in a 4,250 bore in the block.

Yes but I didn't think they made those type aftermarket pistons in other than 4.125 for a SM. Maybe someone used M overbore pistons in that type with SM type thick wall sleeves. Or a aftermarket set I haven't noticed before.

Actually not sure about block, it's it has no sleeves inside block wondering cause I've got an lp head in wanting to use but curious if I had to mill piston tops or change em

Its got to have sleeves, no way around it if its 4". Cant think of any other IH engine that would have a 4" bore without the sleeve that would fit an M....

Blew head gasket called murphys to get over, if click on pic on phone the. Zoom in you can see it has no sleeves, block has been bored and piston is running right on the block, the hole measures 4.103" step up(counterbore measures) 4.250

Without sleeves it must be a M block. Are you shore the pistons don't measure 4.122 to 4.124 diameter or a few less if worn? Look on the block above where the oil filter goes for a casting number. Will be raised numbers and letter or letters.
