compensated flow divider replacement

The flow devider hasn't worked in my 400 for a while. I replaced it with a used one with the same result. The PS unit works fine as long as you hold one of the hydraulic valves open. I've got the hydraulics plumbed around the divider and took off the PS unit being replaced by a straight shaft. I'll thinking about using one of those Prince brand compensated flow divider right after the pump for the unit. What do you think?

Yes

Steiner sells a fixed unit, that is 8 GPM, but that steals to much flow from the hydraulics. I ordered a 3GPM unit from an outfit in Fort Dodge, that cost me a third of what the previous unit did. I would assume you that one that at Northern Tools. My hydraulics would only produce about 1200 PSI, the steering unit is good for about the same, I would be careful if your tractor produces much more pressure than that.
