460 2 point question

I'm helping a buddy with his 460, and I need help. The 2 point dropped and oil came out from under the seat. We removed the steel line that had a hole and had repaired. 2 point still will not go up. He has never used the 2 point, but has a loader on the tractor which works yet. There is linkage that goes from the hyd control under the steering wheel, down the left side with several pivots and runs back to the lift cylinder.
Is this a Lock for transport?? Could this keep the oil from flowing through the cylinder??
Is there something else that I'm not seeing?
Thanks.

That rod and linkage should be the tel-e-depth control for when you are plowing. Air has been introduced to that part of the system. You may want to consider cracking the hydraulic lines at the lift cylinder and cycling the hydraulics a few times to bleed the air. You did say that the loader is still working correct?

The loader is still working. Did the 2 points have pressure both up and down? The valve under the steering wheel is different for the hitch then the two for the loader. We did crack the hoses and bleed a little air from on side, and nothing from the other hose. I'm starting to wonder if he flipped the hoses around and is forcing the hitch down.
Sorry for dumb questions,
Thanks for the help.

There should be a one or two way valve for lowering. As to down pressure it is more returning to the correct depth (tel a depth) rather than "down" pressure.

When you push the lever forward the hitch should go down. When you pull the lever towards you (when setting on the seat) the hitch should go up. I bet you have the hoses switched.

The rod to valve from cyl is follow up linkage and is the self centering device for the teledepth valve. All teledepth means is that you put control lever to a particular position and hitch responds to that position and then stops. Unlike previous fast hitch's on farmall tractors where you pushed or pulled lever until you had hitch at the position you want and then return lever to neutral. I would also guess you have hoses reversed. You need to pull lever toward you to raise hitch. It does have down pressure but the draft control lockout pin has to be installed below the lower end of cylinder. If it does not have double action control check valve,(both hoses from cylinder go to block whereas single action check valve has only one hose to the check block and other goes into welded bock end of pipes) the down pressure will not work either as it will leak back and continually correct itself. No need to bleed air just work it back and forth a few times and that will expel all air. Also, the teledepth valve does not have single and double action adjustment position like the other valves have.

"Also, the teledepth valve does not have single and double action adjustment position like the other valves have."

Thanks for correcting me.

Called the buddy this morning and asked if he was "sure" the lines didn't get switched. He said yes, but at this point would try anything. Called back later and the hitch is now working :D
Now just have to help put the seat and tin back on.
Thanks to all for your help.
