us navy i6 tractor

hello,i have a 1945 i6 tractor that was owned by the us navy and stationed at the atlantic city naval air station in new jersey. does anyone out there know anything about these tractors? it also has a unusual seat on it, when i looked in the i6 parts book it shows this seat and calls it a lazyback seat and support for modified units only,l1 ,m2 and st1. according to the parts book these are cranes. i plan to restore this tractor and donate it to a military air museum. any pictures or info would be greatly appreciated.i have the brass tag that was riveted to the frame below the carb. with the navy pa no. on it.hope there some navy vets out there that can help me out. thanks

The military used a lot of tractors. The Army used Case tractors for pulling artillery
weapons to and from the firing ranges. The tractors had duals on the rear. This was in 1951 during the Korean War. I was drafted in 1953. They used 504 IH tractors for mowing
the artillery ranges pulling large rotary mowers. When the 504's needed engine repair the government didn't want to spend a lot of money on having the blocks rebored. They sent the 504's to Property Disposal to be sold. They bought big Fords to replace them.
They had a encloser made from armor plate to protect the drivers from duds. Hal

This doesn't answer your question but I thought you might like the pictures. I took these
at a tractor show a few years back.
