i was mowing my place today and while doing so this chev pu pulled into the driveway. when i made a turn to come back there was this elder gentelman standing next to the truck'

i pulled next to the truck and shut charlie down.. the gentelman started talking to me about the super C and how well it was running..

found out after wwii he bought one and farmed cotten for about 10 years till the cotten market went south.

he just wanted to see the old Super C working again. he said it brought back a lot of memries. we walked thru the garden,
looked at my wife's cub and had a really wonderful talk with the old timer.

Some people still know what this old red iron is all about

That is a nice story. It was nice of him to stop. Wonder how he would feel about phrases like "elder" and "old timer"? If it were me I would feel you were being a tad condescending. I doubt you understand what I am getting at...wait a few years.

A month or two back, had the B on the trailer to go clean up a farm (that was pulled/pushed down, for firewood) a ways from home. Stopped at the gas station before going the rest of the way. While pumping got talking about the tractor to someone who just happened to be going by and pulled in when they saw it. My brother even thinks that a woman a few pumps over said something about her dad or someone had one like it to someone in her car.

At one time we lined the letter series that we had at time (we now have the whole set of "regular" letters: A,B,C,H,M,W4,W6) next to the driveway. It was quite interesting the number of people that stopped just to shoot the breeze about old tractors.

no distrespect intended he even called himself an old timer when he talked about the good-old-days. by the way, im 53 some people call me old..... just ask my daughters they say im to old fashend

little touchy there dave....we all hate getting old.but really nobodys callin any body names.....old timer is respect and a compliment.. the guy knows the love people feel for these tractors, and the memories of love ones,,old and young that run them...bass was not being disrespectful.......sorry cranky old guy.......dewy

my old grandma used to say if u dont have anything nice to say then say nothing at all......dewy

Was planting beans yesterday with the H and a truck slowed way down to watch and he waved at me. Here in NE Iowa a lot of new high dollar stuff also goes by my field. Pushing 60 here, no plans to upgrade what has worked for me for years.

I'm 77 and don't like being called old timer or elder -- maybe ok when I stop working on my property and tractors.
