Super C PTO locked up

the pto on Charlie is locked up when i put the pto in gear it bogs the motor down. How hard is it to take the top deck off to get to the trans and see whats going on.

i had a H that did somthing like this; a bearing came apart and one of the rollers got into a tooth. then the gears meshed, it bogged down the motor. as long as the clutch was in everytings ran. but that was a long time ago

Just remove the PTO unit first; your problem may be in there.

Bass I agree pull pro out the rear , remove the top cover
very last as that is considerably more work and may not
get where you need to be.

ok ill try removing the pto housing first.

question, when i do pull the housing is there anything in the trans housing thats gonna fall, bang or fly apart or does the pto shaft just pull stright out?

The only thing that will come out is a bunch of transmission oil, unless you either drain it or park it pointing steeply downhill. The steep downhill trick works with an A, not sure it will with a Super C.
