I`ve replaced the o rings with original parts [orange] there is a groove in the cast piece that the pipe goes to. don't want to spend $140 on the oe replacement part!! I`ve used rtv, done it several times with no luck!!

Have used JB weld to fill the groove and sand down. The best I have found is to put a another round O-ring a thin one along with the flat one which helps expand the flat one.

Remove the part and take it to a machine shop and have them make a thin wall sleeve and machine out the part and press the sleeve in with a nice coat of loc tite. problem solved PERMANENTLY . BTDT.

I was just reading something similar in Heritage
Iron. It was a 1456, but they said that the trick is to
use a "square" profiled o-ring (or quad ring). They
said RTV is not needed to stop the leaks - the new
style of o-ring will do it.

Thanks for the reply! The o ring they gave me at IH is round but I wonder if that will work. Thanks again!!
