D-282 INJECTOR ASSEMBLY QUESTION

I have a question about the proper sequence of parts in the pictured IH Midget injector. It concerns the locations of gaskets #2 and #3. Notice there are two #3’s in the picture. Also both #2 & #3 cross reference to the exact same part # now, so all three are the same part anyways.
I just disassemble all my injectors and cleaned them one at a time in an ultrasonic cleaner.
All of mine had gaskets at the top and bottom of spacer # 4 in the picture. The picture would leave you to believe there are two on the top and none on the bottom. That makes no sense to me.
It also shows a gasket below the nozzle #8 which makes sense, but I didn’t find a gasket there on any of my injectors. If there is one there it’s really stuck in the bottom of that hole and invisible to my eyes.
I think there should be one below the nozzle and on both ends of the spacer.
Other opinions are welcome!
Thanks
Tim

Number two was originally a screen assembly that is no longer available, hasn't been for at least 40 years. If you can get the assembly to tighten down without it just go ahead and leave it out. If you need it as a spacer just substitute one more gasket for it. Assemble everything as shown in the picture.

I agree on the screen not being used for at least 40 years(because they broke up) but I always put one gasket on each side of the spacer. And, there should be one down in the bottom, can be tough to get out. Also, be sure to replace those pre-cup gaskets and align the pre-cup according to marking on it.

Last night I took a borescope and looked into the hole again. On the screen I can see that there is indeed a gasket at the bottom. 20 years ago I could have seen it with just my eyes. I reassembled with a gasket at the bottom, each side of the spacer and pop tested it. Didn’t notice any leaks and it pops about 950 psi.
I did get all the precups out (no easy task). One was particularly stubborn and I finally chilled it with some liquid propane (only thing I could think of at the time that I had handy). That shrunk it enough that I was able to pull it with the puller I made. I cleaned everything and got all new gaskets and am just waiting for one new injector to arrive to replace the one old style. None of the precups were pointed in the correct direction. I’m hoping correcting that will improve starting.
Is there any torque specs for installing the injectors? Thanks for all the help!
Tim
