1066 and 706 hyd filter

So I need to change both tractors hydraulic filters. I have never done them before and was just wondering how much hytran I need to buy to replace. How much will come out when changing both of them?

thanks Zach

Check with your owners manual, but i think the hy tran is recomended to be changed every 1,000 hrs or every two years.

couple gallons each.Buy a 5 gallon pail. Then you will have extra for later.BTW,do not try to reuse what comes out,it has dirt in it......

Yes,17 gal.But only a small amount will 'escape' during filter change. If changeing the oil, just pour in a full 20(four 5 gal pails) gallons and forget it...Very common to add 5 gallon(22 gallon total) over full on those tractors. The steering, brakes, etc seem to work better.

Normal filter change oil loss would be less then a gallon. However, if the transmission is overfilled most of the extra oil will also come out with the filter.

Sorry Steve,
Old school says that changing filters and oil at the same time.
Way I was brought up regardless of cost. Less expensive over the long haul.
BTW, enjoy all your posts!
