Wheel weight bolts

Hey there, looking for wheel weight bolts for my one piece cast center. I need bots for three sets of weights. Where is the best place to purchase these? Or what size are these bolts, and can you modify regular bolts to work? Any help is appreciated. Thank you LH

I get mine from Fastenal Co, there a tad pricey, but they show up on my doorstep. You need 2 inches for each weight, and 2 inches for the center casting, and then whatever you need to stick out for the nuts.

The bolts are just bolts. Nothing special about them. If you want to be "period correct" you should probably get yourself square headed bolts and nuts. Otherwise, any old hardware store bolts the right diameter and length will do fine.

In other words, there is no such thing as a special "wheel weight bolt" at least for IH weights, and using regular old hardware store bolts will not cause the weights to melt, fall off, or turn to watermellon-flavored marshmallow.

They are typically 3/4" diameter, though you can verify that with a simple tape measure. Length depends on how many sets of weights you wish to install. Ready rod (aka all-thread, or threaded rod) works best when installing multiple weights using the four center bolt holes.

Additionally, you can look up bolt sizes and lengths on the online parts books at partstore.caseih.com.

You need 3 inches to go thru the main casting on the M -450 series tractors, and 2 inches for each weight, plus room for the nut and washers !!

My IH wheel weight bolts, same vintage as H's and M's, have square heads on the bolts and hex nuts. The operators and parts manuals both show diameter and length for the bolts.
