Model? and should I buy?

Tractor just appeared down the road from me and I didn't take much notice till I suddenly now have a repair to do on my Fergy. I only had a chance to look at it for a short time and didn't get any pictures but it has a loader which I could definitely use and it would be a quick solution to my present problem.
I have only owned Fergusons so this is new territory....

Here is what I wrote down:
Casting # on trans 350496 R4
On block 229 R
Serial # 30760 RJ
13.6-28 Rears. 6x16 fronts
4-cyl gas
Updraft carb
Looks like rear brakes must be in diff?
Very heavy duty looking front axle (I was examining this since it has a loader)
Only says International - no Farmall, no Harvester
6 volt
3-point hitch
Downswept exhaust

The little I can find on the web shows it might be a 1948.

I'd like to know:
- what model is it (and therefore hp)?
- is it suitable for a loader? The loader is a tubular type, and bolts to the front side of the rear axles, which are fairly square castings.
- are the hydraulics good on these? It is sitting there with its loader up in the air so at least it isn't drifting down.
- and especially, any weak points I should check for?

I did see a bit of seepage around the pto but no drips on the ground under it.

Thanks,
Jim

Anything with "R" in the casting is International harvester. Sounds like a 300U utility to me from what you are posting? 1955 1956. Look for working power steering!

Recheck and see if the 350496R4 could be 360486R4 that would really be on the center housing before the transmission, or the same housing the serial number was found on. Think you are looking at a IH 300 utility tractor. It came with a T/A and transmission driven PTO and Rockford clutch. Didn't look it up but would be a 55 or 56 year model.
I wouldn't want one for a loader tractor, but that's just my opinion so get others.

It's not a W9 with 13.6x28 rears and 6.00x16 fronts.

The fact that it's missing EVERYTHING that you could have used to identify the tractor (both model emblems on the hood, AND the serial tag) tells me that it has been abused. I would pass unless it is very cheap.

(quoted from post at 03:21:12 04/20/15) 350496 R4 Goes to a W9 That is is pig. You don't want it. Fix your Fergie

Unless it is cobbled on the 3 point doesn't belong on a 9.
