Tractor just appeared down the road from me and I didn't take much notice till I suddenly now have a repair to do on my Fergy. I only had a chance to look at it for a short time and didn't get any pictures but it has a loader which I could definitely use and it would be a quick solution to my present problem.
I have only owned Fergusons so this is new territory....
Here is what I wrote down:
Casting # on trans 350496 R4
On block 229 R
Serial # 30760 RJ
13.6-28 Rears. 6x16 fronts
4-cyl gas
Updraft carb
Looks like rear brakes must be in diff?
Very heavy duty looking front axle (I was examining this since it has a loader)
Only says International - no Farmall, no Harvester
6 volt
3-point hitch
Downswept exhaust
The little I can find on the web shows it might be a 1948.
I'd like to know:
- what model is it (and therefore hp)?
- is it suitable for a loader? The loader is a tubular type, and bolts to the front side of the rear axles, which are fairly square castings.
- are the hydraulics good on these? It is sitting there with its loader up in the air so at least it isn't drifting down.
- and especially, any weak points I should check for?
I did see a bit of seepage around the pto but no drips on the ground under it.
Thanks,
Jim
