656 hydraulic oil

I need to change the hydraulic oil on my 656 hydro.

Anyone have suggestions on different brands of oil? As most of y'all know, Tractor Supply has a re-refined brand in the yellow 5 gallon bucket & they also have their own "Traveler" brand hydraulic oil. Reading the label on both I don't see anything definitive relating to hydrostatic transmissions.

I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Repairing a Hydro transmission is far more expensive than the value of the tractor in most cases (assuming you can find a competent mechanic). Use real Hytran fluid from a real branded can that has a seal on it. Serious as a heart attack. Jim

I agree with Jim, hy-tran is the stuff to use. It's not really that expensive either.
