ell bought me a 966 today. had 3000 in ac work done last year, has duals on the rear with hubs. rear tires are all about 70%, fronts are in perfect condtion. pto and 3 point work good engine purrs like a kitten but it wont move at all, high or low or reverse and no matter where you put the ta.. looks like I get to split it and install a new clutch. has the old school cab on it so I got my work cut out.. bought the tractor for 2500 and the guy delivered it for free..
 
Do you have power steering and hydraulics?


If not the live PTO/hydraulic pump drive shaft splines have stripped.
 
Well it maybe the clutch and it maybe a hyd. problem and a bad t/A and it COULD be a bad rearend carrier . Not there to see for myself. Before you start twisting nuts and bolts to save time first pull the hyd. filter out of it and and tear the filter apart and look and see if ya find fine metal pieces in it and the fluid has a metallic look to it. If it does then your in for a rearend rebuild. and if that is the case then it will really get into your piggy bank.And doing the set up is a weeeeeeee bit harder then just installing a new clutch.
 
yes has power steering and hydraulics, rolls great in neutral, Ill check the hydraulic filter tomorrow... the story on it is it got stuck in the mud and the son kept trying to get it out but only made it worse. that's why they think it burned the clutch, has 5300 hrs on it
