Hi Steve, a while ago now you was asking about 3 point hitches on Farmall M tractors. In the UK IH built a hitch for the BM tractor using lift all hydraulics. Going back on this forum to the 13th April there was a post on 3 point hitches for a M tractor and Athol Carr replied with the IH drawings for the hitch. MJ

Thanks. The link didnt work. I've always wondered why IH put/offered a 3point on the M,but not on American tractors.Same thing about the direct start diesels and the diesel F-12.Among other similar things. Why did IH offer these 'advancments' on European tractors, but not the American models? Thanks! Steve

When IH introduced the UK built M on the 13th Sept 1949 all other UK maufacturers were fitting 3 point lifts on there tractors. The diesel F12 tractors were made in th German factory as the Germans were the pioners of diesel engines. At the big UK tractor at Newark IN 2009 I put on a large display of IH tractors. Between 1915 and 1970 IH offerd the british farmer 77 diffrent models of tractors and I managed to get at least one of all of them. The collection included the 1st and 2nd Doncaster built Farmall Ms. The UK built Ms all had the wide front tie rods behind the front axle. MJ
