Will a 450 D with a 2 pt. fast hitch with a 3 pt. adapter handle an 8 ft. Alamo Flail mower which weighs about 1200 lbs.?
There's one coming up at an auction by me soon that I'm looking at.

For Grass, or corn stalks, It sure should , i pull a 120 in wide Single wing ditch mower. with a super MTA, It's got about 58 hp.

Ok your worried the front end will come off the ground, I am sure it will be light,Get a IHC weight bracket, bolt it on the front, and put some weights, that will hold it down, The 2 point hitch will lift it!!

First two years Dad had the 450 gas he pulled a Fast Hitch 4F-43 4-14 mounted plow. Any time the plow was out of the ground the front tires were barely on the ground. Tractor lifted the plow easily, no hesitation at all. Finally took a heavy steel frame, 1/2" x 5" steel plus two 140# wheel weights plus two 50# scale weights to allow the tractor to safely run down the road in 5th gear.

The 450-D is a few pounds heavier on the front, the flail mower doesn't extend back as far as the plow did, but is heavier. I think the 450 will be light on the front, maybe not a lot but some.

NO, not worried about the front lifting, I have a home made weight rack I can put about 300 lbs. up there if needed.
I just concerned about having enough HP to run the mower.
