Cub questions.

OK here we go. Have a few cub questions to ask and stay safe. This is a Yellow 1977 International cub. Of all the listings that I have read, does ANYONE know the correct horse power. Have seen from 10 to 12 to 15 and even 16hp. Has an altinator so it should be 12 volt NEGATIVE ground. I have one HELL of a mess in the gas tank. Maybe 5 gallons of GOOOO.!! I will dump MEK in and start to stir it with a wooden spoon now and then till it starts to loosen up. He left the engine cooling system full of antifreeze and she is just where it belongs and is a nice pretty green, Have not tried to turn over anything yet I am taking it STEP by Step. She is pretty nice looking and is in her factory work clothes. Will follow up as I go. Thanks guys.

That new could be around 15 HP. Mine is a 48 model and I think it was rated 8 to 10 at the drawbar and 10 to 12 at the PTO. Really back then they didn't have a real good way to rate em and wasn't as consistent on power as stuff these days are so they will fluctuate a few horses. Good luck on the goooooey stuff. Hate to hear that but at least the tractor found someone that will fix er up.

This is going to be a story in a few days. I have a BBBBIIIIGGGG toy now so give me a week or so from now. Will let you guys know when I can put a real post together. Really excited. Jeffcat

5 gallons of goo would mean the tank is practically full, and a lost cause. There isn't enough MEK in the universe to loosen it up and clean it out. At that stage it would almost be less effort trying to find a clean tank/hood. Easier said than done with the later square hood cubs, though.
