I'M TRYING TO REMOVE THE WEIGHTS FROM THE REAR WHEELS ON MY SUPER C. THEY ARE RUSTED IN. I HAVE TRIED ALL TYPES OF PENETRATING OIL WITH NO SUCCESS. I'VE TRIED INTENSE HEAT, NOT MUCH LUCK THERE EITHER. I'VE DRIVEN SOME OF THEM OUT WITH A SLEDGE HAMMER WHICH RUINS THE BOLT. ANYONE HAVE ANY THOUGHTS?
SECOND QUESTION: MY CUB AMP GUAGE READS IN THE NEGATIVE ALL THE TIME AND THE BATTERY IS ALWAYS DYING. DO I HAVE CROSSED WIRES SOMWHERE? I BOUGHT IT FROM A FOLLOW A FEW YEARS AGO AND IT'S BEEN THAT WAY SINCE I BOUGHT IT.

If those bolts are rusted in that badly, they're already beyond re-using, so get 'em out any way you can.

Is the generator working on the Cub?

if it is a generator, or alternator either; there may be a quick fix.

if generator, you can polarize the generator and try that. also, ensure that the generator belt is properly tensioned.

if alternator, sometimes, when they sit for a period of time, they lose their excitement. something like polarization of generator fixes this.

google for methods.

Look up "John T's Generator Troubleshooting" on google and you will find an easy-to-follow troubleshooting procedure for a generator.

Clearly your generator is not working or the ammeter would read in the positive and your battery would not die. There are several things that could be a problem, and that's where the troubleshooting procedure comes in.

Yeah the bolts are shot, you might have to slide the wheel off the axle, lay them down, dish up, so you can cut the heads off the bolts and pound them down and out.
