Hello,
Look at purchasing a Farmall 300, serial number 19471. Can some one tell me the year and if this tractor is suppose to be all red or if it is suppose to have some white/cream on it. Thanks for the help, Maestro

It is a 1955, and as far as i know there is no white or cream colors on it, but the rear axles should be black.

It is all red, including the axles. Some were repainted with the cream color highlights like the later 350's because they thought it looked better. Frequently it was done by the dealer to make the tractor look like the newer model.

People paint the axles black, but that is personal preference. They would be red, or perhaps unpainted. Same goes for the starter. A black starter is a replacement starter but some people paint them black because they like the way it looks.

My dad bought new H's and M's and pretty sure they were black, and we tried out a new 450 , and they were black too as i remember.

Just remember if you look on that "I think it is Wisconson history or something" there are a boat load of IH factory pictures. When they were painting those tractors they painted EVERYTHING red. Maybe the axles were covered so the wheels would slip on later but gen. alt. plug wires, dist. caps throttle handle ETC. were RED.

The axles were unpainted black (probably Parkerized). The factory probably slipped a cardboard tube on the axle before the paint booth.
