IH radio info needed

Just bought a tractor with an IH fender radio. It's in rough shape but would like to get it looking new again. Are parts for these available anywhere or is there someone that fixes these internals? Never done one of these before so any info would be great!

For "hard parts" like the shell, faceplate, knobs, etc. I think you'll have to find another radio to use for parts.

If the tuner itself needs work, any old TV/radio repair shop should be able to handle that. Finding a TV/radio repair shop these days may prove difficult.

The tuner is just a standard car radio, so you can just pull it out and replace it with any old 2-knob automotive radio. It won't look original up close, but it will make noise.

I used to work on them MANY MANY years ago. Bendix, Motorola, Audiovox, Automatic radio, and there are a couple more. If you go to the really big car shows there are guys who have show booths that fix them and you can go to Hemmings Motor News and look some of them up. Not cheap let me tell you but they can do them. Just remember that they only put out about 4 watts of audio power. You Can do yourself a favor when it comes back. Most of them used a 6x9 speaker. Go to a junk yard and find a Caddeylak caa. Look in the trunk and see what kind of speaker is there. You want the 20oz speaker " big honkin magnet" with what is called a wizzer cone. MUCH MUCH better sound. The Cream of the crop is if you can find a Blaupunkt speaker. German made sound system. OHHH baby do these sound good. Were an option radio. Good luck. Jeffcat

Thanks for all the info. I need the mounting bracket to fender and lens on the radio. If anyone has those I would be interested.

Thanks!
