my 966 does not have 3 point only 2 point. can I just add the plate for the top link and have 3 point? I think it's just a blank plate there now.

If you have regular two point fast hitch, adding the third arm will NOT work. You will need to have the proper lower link arms and get rid of all of the two point. Upper lift arms are the same but get installed on different spline on rockshaft.

You won't have FACTORY 3pt hitch, but with a set of adapter prongs and the top link plate you'll have a workable 3pt.

The problem with the fast hitch is the arms don't spread like a 3pt, which makes hooking up a 3pt implement a little more involved, if not a bit tricky. In most cases you have to put the adapter prongs on the implement, then figure out a way to support them while you back the tractor into them.

Also with the adapter prongs one size does not fit all. Sometimes a straight prong will work. Sometimes you need an offset prong to get enough lift.

I bought a set of adapters online for the 706 I had . Bolted the toplink plate on . It isn't perfect but it does work . Think the adapter arms were about 90 bucks a piece.
Never seen a 66 series 2 point but learn something everyday.
