I have a 504 gas utility I just got this tractor, the heat gauge did not. When I went to fix it the cable was cut and I can not find where the end screws. Into the block. There is a plug in the elbow below the thremostat, wondering if it can be put there

Back of the head.Right side. There is probably a square head pipe plug there,pluqqing the 'hole' where the sender WAS.

When you get a nw guage it will not come with the fitting that goes to the block those are sold seperately.

My 2444 has the same engine as your 504. The temperature sensor is installed in the thermostat housing just in front of the cylinder head.

The C153 engine in the 504 is based off the C113/C123 engine, so the temperature probe should be in the neck below the thermostat.
