I bought a 53 sc last fall and now have some time to play with it. I don't have a operator s manual for it and today found one on line and printed pages 35-42 and drained the oil.Milk white.I now can't find my way back to get the manual up to print more pages. Can someone maybe help me find it again? Thanks

I presume it was engine oil you changed. So, what was the source of the water in the oil?

it was transmission oil.engine seems to be strong.good oil pressure.another question I have there is a check plug on the belt pulley and had a screw type plug and on the inside of it was a spring.Any idea what this is used for? thanks

That is the detent ball for the PTO lever. Make sure the BB size ball is still in there and didn't fall out when you took the spring out. It is not the check plug. The oil level plug is lower on the side of the case. A bit lower than the axle level on the right side.

Thats not a level plug that part sets the tension on the lever to hold the drive in and out of gear behind the spring is a piece that does the holding.
