Changing remote couplers, 1486

I have recently bought a nice used 1486. I went to hook it up to the field cultivator and the hydraulic lines wouldn't hook up. It seems like the male end on the field cultivator side is too big to fit into the end on the tractor. The male ends on the field cultivator are pioneer ends. I have no idea what the female couplers are on the tractor. I would like to switch out the female ends on the tractor. How hard of of job is this? Can I just switch ends? or do I need to replace the bank of Hydraulic couplers on the back of the tractor? This tractor has 3 remotes on it, meaning I would have 3 banks to replace. I am hoping that I can replace just the coupler ends inside each bank. Please help me if you can. Thanks!!

The receiver ends are replaceable. I put a farmhand f11 on my tractor that had been on a JD 2010 or some such and the ends on the hose did not fit my hydraulics. I just changed the receiver ends and it works like a charm. I would probably only replace what you need to at the time tho.

Pioneer makes a conversion kit to convert IHC lever couplers to ISO(pioneer) couplers. The kit is Pioneer 8700. You will need three kits. They can be found on ebay and amazon among many other places.

Those are probably the old IH fittings. I have them on my 1586. I just bought the conversion fittings at TSC and keep them in the toolbox. Works like a charm. Easy.

If they're the stock couplers on the 1486, they should be LARGER than the Pioneer couplers.

All you need is a simple adapter. No need to change anything.

They look like this, right?

Yes, the remotes on the tractor look just like that.

I think I'm going to go with the adaptors rather than
the conversion kit. I priced them out on line, $175
per remote for the conversion kit or $60 per remote for
the adaptors. I might as well save some money, as long
as all works the same going either way.

Thanks for the help guys
