What to do,What to do?

Now I'm really starting to worry about the steering on the 340u. I spoke with Kub6040 on the phone last night. He has the Tel-A-Depth valve I need to make my tel-a-depth work correctly, and also has a steering gear box. I can only afford to buy one of these parts at this time. I'm looking for some advice here. Which would you buy first, and why?

Easy choice. Fix the steering. Steering failure is potentially dangerous and failure could do a lot of damage. By comparison, your hydraulic problem is barely more than an inconvenience.

Like Jim, I say steering. Things that do not move are less dangerous than things that do but go their own way. Jim

You guy's are right. Safety should be my first consideration in a situation like this. I think I'm going to break the piggy bank and purchase both parts though. If I'm going to get my hands dirty I may as well get both jobs done at once.
