Here is the video of the draft control in operation that I mentioned in another posting. I hope it help you help me.

Ok, it appears that someone also replaced the valve with a regular remote valve. If it were the proper tel-a-depth valve, it would be spring loaded in one direction, always pulling the lever ahead.

I just had my 240's hydraulic system all apart. The tel-a-depth valve is completely different from the regular remote valves.

The correct tel-a-depth valve is much more sensitive to movement than the standard valve also.

You could get the correct valve and linkage off of a parts tractor, or you could figure out a way to extend that lever so it is more convenient for you.

Tel-a-depth, that's what it is called. I have trouble remembering that. Anyway, since I do have the tel-a-depth lever and the rest of the linkage, I would rather find the correct valve for the Tel-a-depth. There is a real shortage of junk tractors around here. Where could I locate a tel-a-depth valve?

If I understand, this is a 340u? The lever with the black boot over it should be connected to the lever on the right side of the seat.I wonder,if you pull the boot off and find a hole in it,and it would attach to horizontal rod,and that rod attaches to the lever beside the seat.We had a 340u when I was young, and I think that is how the control linkage worked for the fast hitch.I don't know why anyone would try to operate the fast hitch like it appears in your pics. The draft control(teledepth) on this tractor is mechanical, and is set by a lever/handle on the left rear of the seat, but you would only need that if your were plowing. I reread your previous post and mkirsch has the right answer, and posted the correct parts you need for your control for the rear fast hitch.Mark
