Farmall C no temp gauge?

I bought all new gauges for my 48 C and when I went to put my temp gauge on I couldn't find the hole to put the sensor in.
Did it come factory without one? Or am I just blind?

No gauge from factory!

Buy a upper thermostat/hose housing from a Super C
and that will get your gauge installed.

Your C have a water pump? If so, there should be a plug in the outlet (upper) housing. If not, the factory gauge went into the inlet (lower) housing. If it didn't have a gauge, the inlet housing probably wasn't drilled for it. There is a flat area that can be drilled and tapped with the right size pipe tap.

The Super C had a taller radiator, not sure the Super C outlet will fit. I presume Cliff S has installed one and verified it will work.

I put a SC/SA-1 outlet on my Super A. It's too long so I cut part of it off so that it fits. My experience with a temp gauge on a 113 without a water pump is that it seems to read a little high, next to the red, and cools down rapidly when idled unlike a water pump equipped engine. I think the variation of the water flow causes that, I don't think it actually overheats. Basically, as stated before the 113 does not need a temp gauge.
