Hydro 70 "HYDRO" emblem question

Hi,
I recently came across an original Hydro 70 that came from the factory without the white Hydro emblem that usually accompanies the Hydro tractors. The particular tractor in question is a late 1976 model. In the place where the Hydro emblem would normally be the original dealer sticker is still present proving no emblem was ever present. The owner verified with me that the tractor is in all original condition and like myself is wondering why his tractor has no Hydro emblem. Why would a Hydro 70 cone through the factory without receiving it's Hydro emblem? Thanks
 
After mid-1971, ALL International tractors were produced with decals instead of the aluminum emblems. There are NO metal emblems on any IH tractor after the 56 series. At some point, the HYDROSTATIC DRIVE decal was dropped on the side of the cowling in the H-70 series.

Jeff,
I was wrongly referring to the big white hydro decal as an emblem. I do realize that there was never a "Hydrostatic Drive" emblem on the side of the Hydro drive cowling as we used to have a 1974 model on our farm. I was just trying to figure out why a late 1976 model Hydro 70 wouldn't have had a white Hydro decal put on when it was built like ours did. Thanks
 
Jeff you are mostly right but the early 574/454/354 tractor had metal emblems for the international and number. It was one long emblem.
 
I have a 544 hydro and a 656 hydro, both late '60s models. Neither have the hydro decals, nor appear to have ever had them.

The hydro 70 did not have a "hydro" decal. Just a racing stripe over the hood with hydro written in it. Eason
