560 diesel at upcoming auction

Might go have a look see at this 560 diesel at auction. Originally I wanted to go to look at the 450 with loader, but then the 560 got posted and I sure thought bigger is better.

The IH560 is a tractor that has a big repair problem.
They have lots of things that go wrong with them all the time, there a money pit.
get a 806 diesel or 856 depend on what your pulling.

If you want a MONEY PIT, go pick up an 806 or 856 that needs an engine overhaul or a TA. This is all stuff you have to pay the big bucks to have done by a professional mechanic because of the heavy assemblies and complex hydraulic systems.

By comparison a 560 is cheap to fix, and still small/simple enough that if you've done major work on an H or an M, you can handle the 560.

There's nothing any worse about a 560 that's survived this long as any other IH tractor like an M, 400, or 450. Odds are it has all the recall repairs, and if not, it was gently used through its life.

Only thing I have concerns on is the diesel engine. If it needs work it should be done by a professional or at least an advanced home/farm mechanic.

I have been around these tractors my whole life. Yes they have had issues. BUT, they are still an economical tractor to operate. If they need work they are not to bad to work on. They are no more a money pit than any other "old" tractor. That you restore or repair to working conditions. The whole key is to not pay a fortune when you buy the tractor...............Kenny
