1256 straight pipe

Okay, I'm too lazy to wade thru the snow to cold storage to look at my 1256. I want to put a black straight pipe on it like it had from the factory. Does anyone know off hand what the inside diameter of the pipe needs to be? Would also like to hear of a good source for the pipe that has a flat black finish that will hold up well. Thanks.

I think 3 1/4".I bought a chunk of 3 1/2 pipe at a muffler shop. Had to 'shrink' it to fit. painted it with flat black high heat (muffler) paint. It haas held up well. But if it gets looking scroungy, then just spray it again. and no shed to store the tractor in.BTW it sounds GREAT

My 806 had a straight pipe and I can't hear a word you guys are saying..

3" pipe measures 3-3/8 o.d., 3-1/2 pipe measures 3-7/8 "O.D., 4 in pipe measures 4-3/8".I have never had my hands on 3-1/2 black pipe only 3-1/2 electrical conduit. If you could get a piece of the correct pipe and have it threaded which will be a task, you can take it to a automotive coating business that coats exhaust headers in black (I have a friend that does this here in Saginaw Mi) 3-1/2 pipe is very rare. Good luck. Al71

Just call Dave Thormure at Thormure Mfg. He knows exactly what you need and can ship it quick.

I've never heard of anyone complaining about doing business with Dave.

A 1256 does not have the threaded manifold of the 806 and others. It has a 4 bolt 'flange' that the turbo is bolted/mounted to. The turbo outlet is just a slip fit arrangement. The 'stack' is just secured with a muffler clamp.
