Tom Fleming...F-12 F-14 idle metering jet

Tom I just wanted to share with you what I have found on a few carbs I've been into. This is the third 29953-DC carb I've tore apart and I've discovered they all had the same metering jet. Those of you who don't know this carb is the factory gasoline carb. 29954 is the Kero special/ distallate carb. I haven't seen the small port in the side of the jet you've mentioned in the past. I'm curious which carb you've seen that on? I'm running a 29953 brass bottom carb on the tractor now and I can't remember the design of the metering jet on it. I do remember the overall design seems to be a lot different than this later model cast iron body carb.

I hope the pictures explain themselves.

Sorry to bring this topic up again. I may just be a little obssesed with learning the differences in these carbs! Haha

Seth, good pictures. I'll have to go back to my notes. I was talking both to Gordon Rice and also Tom Underwood about these jets. Neither is quite sure about the one with the small port hole on it. Out collective theory is that it was for the kerosene version of these, but none of use are sure.

Let me go back and see if I can get the carb number that I found it in.
