farmall super A fan hub

I'm reinstalling the generator belt after replacing 12v battery on my SA with a new 6V. I have the nut off the back of the fan hub but it won't clear the bracket befor the fan hits the back of the radiator. Is there another trick to this? I can't imagine you'd have to take the radiator loose for something simple as changing belts.[/code]

i do not remove the shaft from the support. loosen the nut and let the shaft drop to loosen the belt; then work the belt over the fan and remove and replace.

Like other post says you need to work the belt over the fan blades then thru the fan belt to get it on the back sheave. Hope you got one thats 17/32 wide and 26 long cause thats the correct belt for factory gen pulley you mention 12v something so what all has been changed.

I got a 1/2 x 26 belt from Napa. Close as they had. It's got the factory electrical system. Previous owner cut the generator belt and put 12v battery in it. I swapped battery back to 6v so I have a charging system again.

Gene, could you also provide the proper size for the Super A fan belt?
(The belt sizes are not in the parts book :-( )

Thanks a lot,
Hendrik

Yes as soon as i can get to the shop as we have ice on top of snow supposed to melt some but just aint any fun going outside rite now.

Went to work the belt over the fan blades and the whole hub slid forward on the shaft and I could not get it back. Now the radiator is off.

The nut in the viscous clutch had worked itself off the shaft. At least the belt will be easy to install.....
