Farmall M Transmission Bearing Question

I am removing the transmission countershaft from
an M and I cannot get it to come out. I know I
need to remove a rear ball bearing, but am having
trouble getting it removed. I've included a
picture of what I am talking about. Are there any
tricks to removing the shaft/bearing so I can
replace it. Thanks in advance.

Like Nebraska Kirk said just to rear of bearing is a retaining ring. Don't know if this would be the best way but works for me. Loosen the slotted nut on shaft front but leave it on. Have a long bar with bend on the end to contact inner race of the rear bearing. Hit the bar then rotate counter shaft 180 and hit again, repeat until bearing is off. Most don't fit very tight.
Not sure I see everything correct but looks like you have several problems, Constant mesh gear and 3rd and 4th gears that I see.

Like Slater said, leave the nut on the front. Just slip the shaft back into the front bearing and put the nut on, take off snap ring and drive rear bearing off with any kind of bar that you can get in there.
