Thank you ! production numbers on this website said only 2522 Super MTA's made and I thought that had to be wrong since 1954 started with 60001 and I have had one SMTA with serial in the 64000's and one with 79000's. I was always told there were about 23000 SMTA's with 1800 or so diesel and propane and this number now makes sense.

Roughly 23,500 super mta tractors built. Approx 2700 were diesels. The rest would be either gas,lp,or distillate/kerosene. Would also include high crops roughly 60 couple were built. Jim.

Correct me if I am wrong, but weren't some of those SMTAs built in Louisville? Weren't the Louisville Super Ms the ones with the serial numbers starting with 60,000?

Well there are 16 listed in the YT Registry, but i know of 2, not in there, LOL !! The two i know of back home i don't think the bottom end has ever been touched !

Last SM tractor built at Louisville was serial number 512541 built 7-10-53. No 54 SM built at Louisville or SMTA tractors. SMTA started at 60,001.

(quoted from post at 18:21:36 02/25/15) I know of at least 6 in my area that aren't listed here on this site.

So what's stopping you from registering them?

Registries are voluntary. Nobody's got time to travel the country looking in every barn to hunt down every tractor, or chase them as they change hands.

If they are registered on a public site, then everyone will know exactly where they are. Might be good, might be not so good.

Know what you mean. Kinda like all my firearms. They were all stolen by a band of traveling gypsies.
