Gas tank cleaning

I took the gas tank off of my super a and have fashioned up a old celing fan motor that will fit into the hitch on my truck and is sturdy and will spin my gas tank with some nuts and bolts inside it. The only thing I have a question about is the baffle in the tank I know there is a quarter inch gap between them. I know I would not be able to get through there but is there any other solution that will clean that other side?

Maratic (sp) Acid works well for cleaning a gas tank. Pour some in shake it around then drain it out and wash it out with water and put it some place real warm to dry it out

I have cleaned several gas tanks successfully using an acid solution. Depending on how dirty and/or rusty the inside of your tank is, just sloshing some acid around for a few minutes may not be enough. My method is to fill the tank half full of water, then add a gallon of Muratic acid, fill to the brim with water and then let it set for several days to a week to allow the acid to work at removing the rust. Once it is clean enough to suit you, empty the acid solution and pour in some fresh water and add some baking soda to it., this will neutralize the acid. Rinse with that solution and then a couple more times with plain water until the rinse water comes out clean. A quick way to dry out the tank is to pour in some Acetone and slosh around on all surfaces and then drain. The Acetone will absorb the remaining water and evaporate leaving the inside dry as a bone.

If you used muriatic acid, when rinsed & dry, pour some diesel fuel or 2 stroke gas in and shake the tank so the entire inner surface is coated and won't rust. Then drain the residue.

Follow the advice of the others, and use the acid. Please DO NOT put nuts, bolts, rocks or sand into the tank. You will NEVER get all of it back out.

that bottle of acid said it's useful in swimming pools so if people can swim in it im assuming I can dump it in the woods when I drain it out of the tank or is that wrong? I have 10 gallons water and 1 gallon acid
