584 IH 4x4 tractor/loader worth

I am looking at a 584IH 4x4 tractor with a 2250 IH loader. Are they good tractors . I can't find out much about the 4x4 part. It runs good really needs paint and a few hydraulic cylinders redone. Strong hydraulics , no smoke or blow by. Tires are wore down but solid. It has 3 point ,PTO and one set of remotes. All the gears work and clutch feels good. What's it worth?

I bought a 584 2-w drive, no loader 2 years ago for $6,800 after watching a similar one sell for $7,300 on a farm auction. It's a good tractor for its size.
I have an 884 MFWD w/Dual loader (all good) that I paid $10,800 for 9 years ago. I like the tractor and the front wheel assist. Use it every day!

Hi check the parking brake for holding. Most common problem on the 74/84 Series tractor was operator would forget to release parking brake and drive tractor chewing up the parking brake and clogging the hydraulic system. The 584 should have a D-206 German Diesel engine that is a very good engine. My brother has a 2250 Quick Attach loader on his CIH 3230 which is same as 584 but two generations newer. Have no experience with 4x4 but neighbor had 684 4x4 with loader for many years.

JimB, you're right about the parking brake, I replaced the one on the 884 and it's "major surgery."

if this helps, i am bring one back from the dead. doing a total rebuild everything new in the block beside the cam bearings, with rebuilt injection pump and have apx 2200.00 in motor. mine is 2 wheel drive also and would like to put a loader on it later this summer. i have the IH manuals if needed and can make a copy.
