Farmall 400 hydraulic Screen

Where can I find a source for the hydraulic screen for my 400. Can't find a used one anywhere and don't really want to buy new. Over $100 new I think. My screen is missing the fine mesh on the outside of it.

If this is the same part number an F350 uses then the price is in the $70 range if I'm remembering it right from a year ago when I bought one from the dealer. Still a chunk of change but on the other hand this is your hydraulic system's only "filter" and to me it pays not to cut corners. The mesh is very fragile and I would question the integrity of a used one. My old one tore just by brushing against the edges of the hole when I pulled it out to check it. I won't be removing it again unless I have another new one on hand in case it happens again.

Just curious - if your's is missing the mesh was the mesh removed from the screen prior to installation or did it disintegrate into the system?

Have a good used one for less than 1/2 new price.
But probably need between 11 and 13 bucks on top of that to send. They get the fine mesh torn up a lot of times after getting dirty and the suction collapses the filter out of round. Then the screen won't pass through the hole without damage.
Cut down to one hundred series tractor and have a couple of extra screens for it. New price at my dealer $83.03.
email open in classic if interested.

D Slater I may be interested. I'm gonna call the dealership tomorrow to see how outrageous they are on the price, or if I can even get a new one. I'll email you when I find out. My screen collapsed at some point and I think somebody just removed the mesh. Lots of sludge, dirt and water in the reservoir.
