Super M-TA Charlynn steering question

On my Super M-TA I do not have hydraulic remotes
thus I am not using any of the hydraulic power for
anything, is it possible to mount my Charlynn unit
in the steering shaft and run it from the tracor
hydraulics from outlets on the box under and at the
rear of the fuel tank

I think due to the flow rate of the pump, you will still need to use a priority flow divider valve between the pump and those valves. You will have too much flow if it all goes to the torque generator and it [u:1b4ea6a8ce]may[/u:1b4ea6a8ce] lock up.

Like IH fan says, supplying the Charlynn unit direct from the remote outlets will cause problems.

The Charlynn steering motor can only take a gallon or so a minute. Attempting to supply it full pump flow (12 gpm) will partially "dead head" the pump. The excess flow will blow off thru relief valve. It will quickly overheat the hydraulics; it also unnecessarily loads the engine.

The better solution is to install a properly sized flow divider (aka. a priority valve) between the pump outlet and the remote hydraulic valve inlet.
