Would a 53 SMD

It would be a late type chassis but you would need to look at it or have more information to see if it has the engine driven hydraulics.

As D Slater said pics or physically looking at it is key. On the stage 2 super m/md's I have seen a few with belly pumps and according to the books they could be equipped either way.

That s/n makes it a Stage II SMD and thus ordinarily fitted with live hydraulics. HOWEVER the live pump was a factory "delete option" - there were some Stage II supers built with belly pump, or no hydraulic pump at all.

As others point out, the only accurate way to determine whether it has a live pump is to inspect the tractor in question.

Yes as super m series tractors had disc brakes. Standard m series tractors built after serial number 290xxx I believe could have FACTORY IH disc brakes. There were aftermarket disc brake kits offered for farmall H and m tractors as well that could be installed by the dealer, most were made by ausco lambert.

Lambert disk brakes were an option on H's & M's after about 1940 or so. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

Lambert brakes only have 3 bolts holding them to the tractor where the factory brakes have 5 bolts.
