average tractor a man has he is asking 4500 seems very high to me are they really worth that kinda money its a 4 on 10 being the highest?

Seems awfully high to me...for my area anyway. $1500-$3000 is pretty normal around here depending on condition. You start getting into the price range your talking, it better be restored.

I agree I was thinking 1500 in its condition and are they very wanted at all my friend bought an 806 diesel for 2400 and runs great I didn't think he did too bad.

At $4500 he's telling you that he doesn't want to sell it. Wayyyy, way to high for a gasser. Diesel maybe.

now someone has one on photo ads for 5500 can you believe it the one I'm talking about at least has a wide front.

$4500 sounds high unless its in very very good shape with like new tires. I've seen them in decent running condition sell for $1500 at auction (its been a while) but I've also seen the same decent running ones go $3000-$3500.

Way high!!!! I love 560s but not that much. I bought one of mine a few years ago[before prices dropped] for $2700. It was[and is] in excellent shape. It it gas and wide front. A little over a year ago I bought a 560 diesel turbo wide front with a farmhand loader and grapple for $2500. Last spring I bought a gas 806 that needed the carb rebuilt for $3500. Look around!

Well it was not that long ago that nobody would pay more then 2 grand for a nice 560 Diesel with a wide ft. and fast hitch with good tires and a working T/A . Then came six dollar corn and 14-15 dollar beans . Then prices went crazy . So is a tractor that was made from 1958 thru 1963 worth that kind of money ??? Not to me . There is a guy just north west of me that wants 7500 for a 706 gas , he is claming it is a 63 BUT 63's did not come with a C291 . I know it is not one of the ones that i bought and sold with the C291 change over as i never did a change over rebuild on a narrow ft clamshell fender fast hitch tractor . Those we called three strikers and were not worth putting that kind of money in them . I did however put a lot of new T/A's in them as it was less money to do a T/a and clutch and was a better selling point to sell the tractor with a new T/A with a two year warranty . I had nothing to loose on that as the T/A was warranted for two years along with all but 25 bucks of what i charged to do a customer T/A install . Now what will people pay for a tractor ?? , There is someone out there that will pay more then you think as i have found out , One 706 Diesel that i sold i got 6750 out of it and a I H dealer bought it to make a sale on a baler but i had to warranty that tractor for a LONG 120 days . I bought a 806 diesel off a farmer out in N/W ind. it was a one owner and org. paint new tires all around good T/a strong engine that started the day i was at his farm in 20 degree weather with not heated block and not either i gave him 4250 for it and i got a full rack of ft. weights and four sets of donuts a heat houser and two boxes of filters for it . It only had 3400 hrs on it . I did not set the price the farmed did and i did not try and beat him down i just wrote the check and three weeks later i picked the tractor up . Brought it home and started cleaning it and fixing anything i found . My buddy put a show quality paint job on it and i was happy as this was going to be a keeper . My accountant knew the guy that does the pictures for fast line and he came up and took pictures of it and it was on the next months fast line cover. One day i had it setting outside inft. of the shop while i was working on a customers tractor some guy i had never seen before came in and asked about the 806 , i told him a dozen times it was not for sale and he would not let up kept asken what it would take . At that time you could buy and 806 D anyplace for 4000-maybe on the high end 6000 . I finally told him 8750 and all i got was Oh and he left . Thought to myself fixed him won't see him again , WRONG twenty min. later he was back with his wife asking how i wanted the check made out . Here again i figured i would get ride of him with the CASH ONLY deal and NO CHECKS , Wrong again he sent his wife to the bank for folding GREEN stuff . Guess he really wanted that tractor OR i did not price it high enough. each and every time i would find one that i wanted to keep and fix it to the way i wanted it someone would come in and pay way more then they could have bought it someplace else . The last 806 i bought and that i still have is SOOOOOOOOO ugly that nobody wants it , BUT she is a real runner everything works like it should does not useoil anymore then it should on a really hard day pulling a set of 710 5x16's plowing 8-10 inches deep it will use a qt. it will pull the 18ft.470 disc just fine up and down our humps and bumps with duals it will pull the 18 ft. silage wagons full ok but we are talking loads up over 30000lbs at times . has the best steering of any 06 tractor that i have ever been on . What have i had to fix on it in the twenty years i have had it , i had to put a clutch in it because it ripped the center out of the disc while pulling silage wagons i had to have the started gone thru and a new alt. and water pump. When the weather breaks i am gone to put a new hyd hitch pump in it as the hyd. system is getting slow and i might fix the one oil leak on the T/A spool vale and put a new set of tires on the back . And yes they will be loaded with Calcium . And NO there is no paint job on the horizon somebody might try and buy it .
