quick cub question

my cub has the factory front mount snow / grader blade, now this one does not have the y frame and spring for the mid mount grader blade, am i right in assuming that this version cannot be used in the mid mount position ?

Do you mean the A frame is missing completely, or that you have one that does not use the spring? If it can be mounted on the front it can be belly mounted. There were 3 versions, and the very first one used a rod rather than the A frame.

mine mounts to the front, it doesnt have the spring, and the mounting frame where it goes up to the link that goes over the front axle is not the sameas the pics ive seen of the one that has the spring, i wasnt sure if it was advisable to mid mount this type for grader work i dont want to damage anything, understandable this would be for use in loose gravel, not hard pan

I don't know why anyone would would want to mid mount the snowplow blade. I did that once and it was totally useless, use a little down pressure, and by by traction. I use it front mounted to plow snow and do some grading, works great. Of course I put a chain around the plow and floppy hookup so that I have direct control. Used it like that for a couple of decades.
